As a home-based
business entrepreneur, you are probably keenly aware of why avoiding "home
business burn out" is so important. Even if you have only been working in
this area for a short time, you can probably already see how easily that
fatigue may set in. Many individuals learn from their life experience to
deal with the burnout factor by pacing themselves, eating better, relaxing
whenever practical, exercising on a regular basis while getting sufficient
sleep (minimum 6 hours). But while these steps are of paramount importance
at every stage of life, they are even more essential when you launch your
business since the mental and physical strains are so acute during this
period. When you are merely an employee, you may have been accustomed to a
certain job and therefore left other details to others. But a work-from-home
business will generally demand a wider spectrum of responsibilities than
that. Much like a movie actor who decides to direct the film as well, the
home-based business entrepreneur must rise to the occasion, and often with
the life savings on the line and virtually no inherent benefits.
To help prevent the stress and pressure that may ultimately lead to burnout,
there are some things that may help. The most important of them may be your
overall attitude. Try not to make a mountain out of a molehill. As you set
out on your new path, mistakes are bound to occur. Be ready for them and
even embrace them because they are simply a part of the learning and growing
process. Errors usually mean you are learning something new, regardless of
what you learned about mistakes in school. Don't make a bigger issue out of
errors than you have to. The same goes for incidents that seem to be a
result of "bad luck". In these trying situations it is all too easy to think
that you are being victimized but do not fall into the trap of making these
incidents worse than they are because they also happen to every home
business proprietor at some point or another along the way.
It is essential to eat healthy food whenever you can. If you attempt to
subsist on pizza and fast food you can be assured of reaching burnout at
some point. Your body and mind need quality nutrition to combat the massive
stress of running your own business venture. Antioxidants are key in this
regard. Vitamin C and E are perhaps most helpful, but don't forget the fresh
fruits and vegetables. Keep your immune system in shape because you probably
cannot afford to be away from your business for long at this early stage.
You also will need plenty of fluids. Dehydration is common in these
scenarios. Also make certain to make time for R & R. Anything that diverts
your mind for a just few hours may be of assistance. Simply seeing a movie
may help alleviate the stress somewhat. But you also will require to a
regular vacation as well so do not neglect to plan for this. Onr thing that
can definately help you fell more relaxed is using heavy breathing.
Just breathe in slowly for a count of seven and then breathe out for a count
of eleven.
